Web Developer, Management Information Systems Department (MIS). Launched pilot deployment of FogBugz issue tracking software among MIS's team of web developers, leading to FogBugz being purchased and becoming a permanent fixture in the team's work. Joined in the ongoing development of an internal people and projects information portal called AbtKnowledge built upon ColdFusion; built AbtKnowledge modules for LDAP authentication and IBM LTBA-based single-signon between WebSphere and ColdFusion; built Project and Proposal metadata edit forms and other major UI improvements leading to AbtKnowledge 3.0 release.
2007 – 2008
Web Developer, Environment Research Division. Rebuilt Performance Track Multimedia Regulatory Profile tool (a Perl & mysql-based application) as a ColdFusion application, and enhanced its performance by reducing the number of queries in a page view. Setup and maintained a Subversion server to be used as a source code repository and possibly replacing Team Coherence. Led the technical side of building an online survey using Prezza Checkbox Mobile with offline/synchronizing mobile clients interviewees can use out in the field to collect data without an Internet connection.
2004 – 2007
Web Developer, IT Department. Member of the core AbtNet team that was responsible for building the technology and content to launch AbtNet in 2005. Developed many enhancements to the basic Theme (look and feel) provided by the IBM WebSphere backend web site platform, including expanding/collapsing menus for the left-hand side navigation, popup context menus for Sametime links (hyperlinks to Abt employees), popup windows for Printer Friendly View and Link to this Page. Worked on development of portlets (mini web applications) for searching Autonomy index of Abt files and data; searching Staff Directory; viewing resumes, proposals, reports, etc. Continuing development of IT-owned AbtNet content and advanced development requests related to content owned and developed by CorpComm.
1999 – 2003
GIS Analyst / Programmer, GeoGraphics Laboratory at Bridgewater State College (Bridgewater, Massachusetts, USA) <www.e-transit.org>. Under a grant provided by the Bridgewater Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program, developed a computer algorithm for predicting the arrival times of public fixed-route buses at their stops, based on real-time observations of the vehicles' geographic positions. Developed a Microsoft Access application for Transportation Option Managers in the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission. TOMs enter clients case data into the application, which later uploads it to the GeoGraphics Lab for reporting and analysis.
Built the Cape Cod Advanced Travel Planner web site using Maptitude for the Web and Visual Basic. This site shows an interactive view of the Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority's fixed bus route service, to help users navigate the system.
